*How to Use*
Ensure your equipment is clean and ready to use.
- Apply Norvell Step 1: Base Coat Solution the day before the event. Avoid water for 24 hours (warm rinse only, no soap or hot water).
- On show day, apply Norvell Step 2: Top Coat Solution for a stage-ready finish.
SPRAY APPLICATION
- Prepare skin immediately before tanning with Norvell XLATAN™ pH Balancing Spray or client may use a Norvell Glow System Exmitt.
- Dispense 2 to 2.5 oz of solution into the spray gun solution cup.
- Keeping gun 6-8 inches from skin, spray in a smooth, even sweeping motion. Increase spray distance to 12 inches when spraying face, hands, and feet.
Do not oversaturate skin. Applying too much solution will cause the tan to look unnatural.
- Dry completely using only air from the spray gun.
- Apply Norvell Hydrofirm™ Setting Spray immediately after spray tan application to seal in color and hydration.
- Follow up with Norvell Tan-Lucent™ Drying powder for
the final touch.
- Store any remaining solution in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight in an airtight container and use within 24 hours. Do not pour back into Norvell Solution Bottle with unused solution. Clean gun thoroughly every day and allow to fully air dry.
- On show day, dispense 2 to 2.5 oz of Step 2: Top Coat solution into the spray gun solution cup, no additional pre-tan products are needed.
- Keeping gun 6-8 inches from skin, spray in a smooth, even sweeping motion. Increase spray distance to 12 inches when spraying face, hands, and feet.

- Dry completely using only air from the spray gun before adding more coats as needed or dressing. No additional post-tan care products are needed as this Top Coat perfects and locks-in color for a flawless, stay-put finish.
- Store any remaining solution in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight in an airtight container and use within 24 hours. Do not pour back into Norvell Solution Bottle with unused solution. Clean gun thoroughly every day and allow to fully air dry.
The cosmetic bronzer provides immediate color and is temporary, rinsing off at the client’s first rinse, 24 hours if necessary, after the session.
Norvell products are manufactured in the US to the highest standards. The product’s "Best By" date is printed on the package or bottom of the bottle. Check before use to ensure optimal results and freshness.
*Tips & Tricks*
Pre-Tan Prep: Advise the client to shave and use the Norvell Glow System Pre-Tan Exfoliator approximately 12 to 24 hours before their first appointment (Step 1: Base) in the Norvell Competition Spray Tan appointment.
Day Before Event: To balance skin pH levels, immediately prior to Norvell Competition Base Coat Solution (Step 1) application, spray client with Norvell Pre-Tan XLATAN pH Balancing Spray or have them use the Norvell Glow System Exmitt. Apply the Base Coat approximately 24 hours before stage time. Immediately after the Base Coat application, spray Norvell Post-Tan Hydrofirm Setting Spray to moisturize, seal-in color and mitigate transfer. Follow-up with a light coating of Norvell Post-Tan Tan-Lucent to help reduce tackiness without any harm to the tan.
After 24 hours, if necessary, the client tanner may rinse (warm water only, no soap or hot water, shaving, shampooing etc).
On Show Day: Apply Norvell Competition Top Coat Solution (Step 2) and use air-only from the spray gun to dry completely before adding more coats as needed or dressing. No additional pre-tan or post-tan care products needed as this Top Coat perfects and locks-in color for a flawless, stay-put finish.
- This formula has high levels of bronzer and DHA, we recommend you use only air from the spray gun to completely dry solution once applied on skin.
- Tan will begin to develop 4-6 hours after application and will reach full color results within 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, clients may rinse with warm water only (no soaps), gently glide hands over skin (no scrubbing), and pat dry to avoid streaks.
- Do not oversaturate skin, applying too much solution will cause the tan to look unnatural.
Before each application, ensure your clients use the FDA recommended spray tan accessories hair net, sticky feet, nose filters, eye shields, protective under garments and lip balm.
Advise Client: Not to bathe, shower, or sweat for at least 24 hours after application, and to avoid chlorinated pools.
